Finding referees for my assessment form is a lot harder than I thought.

Given that the majority of our medical/surgical rotations change every 6 weeks, compounded with the fact that we are not attached to a particular consultant/fellow/any senior doctor everyday for 6 weeks, they can't really gauge how much we know clinically now, can they? =(

It's true I've worked with many doctors in the past, and it's also true that I "kick off" well with a few by the end of my posting, but tell me this - how much can they remember 3 months down the line, what more 2 years later....especially when they've taught a stream of junior doctors and students after me?

In a way I'm thankful we now have to nominate 2 referees instead of 3 this year, but that also means I have to choose very carefully.... it all hangs so precariously by the thread at the moment, and I don't want to jeopardize everything.

About 6 more weeks to go. So much to do, so little time.

Sigh.
