Played Munchkins for the first time today with Iona, Tony, Chuks and Ken. What I perceived to be a relatively short game turned out to be a two-hour long exhausting fiasco. Very energy-draining.
And I got more than I bargained for. Hmmm....=D
The aim of this game is relatively simple: whoever reaches the highest level (ie: Level 10) first wins....AT ANY COST. So this means lots of 'arguments'/'backstabs'/'manipulation' in store for all players along the way. =p
My verdict: Card games are just not my niche.
I came out feeling rather muddled and confused. Somehow all the things cited in each card just could not register. I had to read at least FIVE times before I could understand EACH sentence. And that (still) did not guarantee I understood the whole text once I put all the sentences together.
Now do you guys know WHY I took so (bloody) LONG just to take and throw cards away from my deck?
The best part was I did not UNDERSTAND most of what the other players say throughout the session!
So much jargon, and so little time to digest them all.....
As I was sitting at the end of the table, observing the veterans at play - arguing on what-if's and what-nots with precision, only one thought crept into my mind:
"I'm a lost, partially sedated sheep which wandered into a lion's den...."
Where were all the other non-gamers when I needed them most?????
I am getting slow. Even a little senile. At a ripe old age of twenty. T_T
Perhaps I need more practice (you guys taking Munchkins along to KKB later?) .
And I definitely need the Munchkins' manual. It may prove useful for an extremely flustered slow-poke like me. *grins*
One of the most memorable quotes of the day:
".....it ends with the word 'Armour'...."
You are gonna pay for this Zhi Jian!!! =p
I really have to agree with Iona - this game is vindictive. Or rather, Munchkins showed the 'darker side' of many. ^^"
